Repairing anything mechanical has always been a passion of mine. My love of cars started well before I stood tall enough to reach the gas pedal. When I was just 12 years old I started to race go carts that I built with my father. Even though my mother was against me racing, she always supported me, as she still does today. I knew then that this was the career path I would pursue and my goal was to run my own successful repair shop some day. Growing up, I loved to ride along with my father on his tool truck route and visit many local repair shops and dealerships, where my love of cars continued to grow. As a teen, I attended Roxbury High School and took auto shop class. In 1994 I graduated from high school and started to work as a technician at a few different local repair shops in the Roxbury area. Also, I had the opportunity to work on the pit crew team of an asphalt modified race car. Having gained lots of knowledge working for these shops, and from other opportunities, I gained insight into how I would want to run my own business one day. In April 1st of 2003, my dreams came true and I opened the doors of Automotive Magic. I started as a one-man shop and later that year hired my first technician. In June of 2005 I broke my leg in a bad 4-wheeler accident and was bed ridden for 3 months. During this time, thanks to my family and loyal customers, the shop remained open. Special thanks to my brother, the contractor, who became an automotive tech and business manager overnight! I returned to the shop in a wheelchair in September of 2005. Fortunately, my leg healed and today I am back on my feet. In January of 2006 I began taking Auto Repair Management Classes to further my education in the industry of auto repair. I graduated with honors and am constantly continuing my education to keep me updated with this ever-changing field. I am married to my wife Lisa and have been blessed with two beautiful daughters, Kelsey and Jordan, with a third daughter on the way! Thanks to Lisa for putting up with all the hours I spend in the shop to make it successful! I couldn’t do it without her strength and support and the support of my family and friends! In my spare time I enjoy bowling, snowmobiling, playing darts, going 4 wheeling in my Jeep and going out on my quad (yes, I still take it out despite the broken leg)! |
